City Police seized more than 120 garments made with skins of endangered animals, whose value exceeds 300 million pesos (approximately 661,000 USD), during an operation at a store in Villa Crespo. According to the store owner, the corrupt and convicted former president Cristina Kirchner used to buy leather jackets there.

The procedure was carried out after videos were circulated on social media in which the defendant, Hunor Gombos, 85 years old, promoted the sale of coats and accessories made from species protected by law.

The search, requested by the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Unit (UFEMA) under the supervision of prosecutor Carlos Michienzi and authorized by Criminal, Misdemeanor, and Offenses Court No. 23, presided over by Judge Norberto Circo, covered both the commercial premises and a residence located at 800 Serrano.

The operation involved the participation of the Special Investigations Division and the Environmental Crimes Division of City Police, as well as the Judicial Investigations Corps (CIJ) of the Public Prosecutor's Office and personnel from the General Directorate of Supervision and Control (DGFyC).

During the search, officers found a jaguar coat, considered a National Natural Monument and protected by Law 25,463, 25 boa skin garments, and multiple pieces made from fox, otter, and mink.

The lot also included coats made from rhea and white fox skins, tails and blankets made with parts of wild fauna, a red deer antler, and numerous skins from different species. In total, 122 items were seized, including garments and skins, with an approximate value of 335 million pesos (approximately 738,000 USD).

The investigation arose from cyber-patrol activities, which detected social media posts where the merchant displayed and offered garments made with by-products of wild fauna.

Among the seized items, a jaguar coat stood out, considered invaluable and without a defined commercial price. In addition, the following were seized: 25 boa garments, 10 fox garments, 7 otter garments, 5 fox scraps, 19 mink skins, 11 fox skins, 3 otter tails and 3 otter rugs, 2 fox wristbands, one otter coat, one white fox coat, one rhea coat, 3 otter blankets, one fox collar, 2 mink vests, 24 red fox skins, and one red deer antler.
