In the midst of a growing escalation in the Middle East, marked by the war with Iran, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the tightening of the position of the United States, the president Javier Milei undertook a key visit to Israel, where he ratified the strategic alliance with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and advanced an agenda concrete of bilateral cooperation.
This is Milei's third official trip to Israel since its inauguration in 2023, a clear sign of geopolitical priority. The visit also coincides with the imminent end of the truce between the powers involved and new negotiations planned in Islamabad (Pakistan), which increases the relevance of the Argentine position in the conflict. After his arrival, the president visited the Western Wall, one of the holiest sites in Judaism, accompanied by local officials and authorities, in a gesture of strong symbolic and political content
.
At the bilateral meeting, Milei and Netanyahu not only ratified the alliance, but also made progress on three concrete measures that impact at different strategic levels: Buenos Aires—Tel Aviv direct air route: The President announced that “starting in
November, the first direct air route in history between Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv will start operating.” “This flight is the physical representation of a moral, spiritual and political union that Argentina shares with Israel,” he said, adding that “our nations will be closer than ever.”
Memorandum of Understanding on artificial intelligence: Both countries agreed to cooperate in technological development. “We are going to jointly develop artificial intelligence models, train specialists, apply this technology to our productive sectors and work together in international forums where the future of this technological revolution is defined,” said Milei. In addition, he stressed that “Argentina has the human capital, energy and regulatory freedom to become the world's next artificial intelligence hub
.”
Milei ratified two strategic definitions in foreign policy: Moving the Argentine Embassy to Jerusalem and Total Alignment in the Fight against Terrorism. In this context, he said: “We express our strong support for the United States and Israel in their war against terrorism and against the Iranian regime
.”The bilateral meeting consolidated the harmony between the two leaders. Netanyahu was blunt: “Israel and Argentina are together, stronger than ever,” calling Milei “a great economic leader and a great world leader.” In addition, he highlighted an unprecedented fact: “This is the first time in the history of Israel, in seventy-eight years, that we have awarded a foreign leader the honor of lighting a torch on our Independence Day.” In direct praise, he added: “Javier Milei has enormous strength and great moral clarity... and the courage to sustain it,” underlining his stance “defending Israel and confronting anti-Semitic defamations
