At the Government's demand, Toyota revealed how much taxes increase the cost of their cars.
The Japanese brand showed how much taxes influence the final price of their cars in Argentina
Toyota Argentina updated its price list for April 2025 and included a key detail: the value of its cars without the tax burden. The measure responds to the Resolution 4/2025 of the Secretariat of Commerce, which requires greater transparency in prices.
The information published on its website shows the tax impact on each model and highlights how much it increases the final price.

How much do Toyota cars increase due to taxes?
The price difference varies depending on the model. In some cases, taxes add several million pesos to the base value.
Here are some examples of Toyota models with their final price and the value without taxes from all levels of the State:
- Yaris XS Manual: $22,648,000 final / $18,717,355 without taxes
- Yaris XLS Pack CVT: $27,909,000 final / $23,065,289 without taxes

Price transparency
The publication of values without taxes responds to the Government's requirement to clearly inform the impact of the tax burden.
In Argentina, internal taxes affect high-end models, but they also impact lower-value vehicles. With this strategy, Toyota aims for consumers to know how much each car really costs before the application of taxes.

Will car prices drop in Argentina?
Although this measure doesn't mean an immediate price reduction, it does open the debate on the tax burden in the automotive industry. Taxes represent a large part of the value of cars in the country, and many consumers are calling for their reduction.
For now, displaying this data allows buyers to better understand what percentage of the final price corresponds to taxes and how it affects their purchasing decision.
