La Derecha Diario Tragedy in La Matanza: a truck crashed into a bus and left two dead
The impact occurred on Route 21 and Cristianía Avenue; one of the injured victims suffered an arm amputation.
A serious traffic accident occurred this Friday in Gregorio de Laferrere, La Matanza district, when a truck transporting animal tallow collided with a bus from line 180. The accident resulted in two women dead, several passengers injured, and one victim who suffered an arm amputation.
The crash, which was recorded by a security camera, left shocking images, with injured people on the sidewalk and the truck's load scattered on the street.

The accident took place at the intersection of Route 21 and Cristianía Avenue. According to initial reports, the line 180 bus was traveling with the green light when it was hit on one side by the truck, which apparently ran the red light.
"The bus was coming along Route 21 and entered a bay on the avenue to turn back toward the Villegas neighborhood. From the opposite direction, heading from Ciudad Evita to Laferrere, the truck loaded with animal tallow was coming and they collided", a witness of the event recounted.
The impact was so strong that the truck veered off its path into a ditch, destroying a bus stop along the way.
Fatalities and serious injuries
The chief of the Laferrere Volunteer Firefighters, Damián Díaz, provided details about the magnitude of the accident.
"It was a collision between a passenger bus and a truck. There were multiple injuries, some serious and others minor", he explained.
Among the victims, two women died, one after being transferred to Balestrini Hospital and the other at Paroissien Hospital.
Additionally, a woman suffered an arm amputation and is in serious condition, as is another passenger, both hospitalized at Simplemente Evita Hospital.
Other injured individuals were taken to different hospitals in the area, while the truck driver suffered an open fracture in his right leg, and his companion was also injured.
Ongoing investigation and accident analysis
Authorities are working at the scene to determine the exact causes of the accident. The truck driver was apprehended and will undergo a blood test to evaluate whether he was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Meanwhile, a mechanical and accident analysis was ordered to clarify whether the truck ran the red light and if there was any failure in the vehicles involved.
The tragic event shocked the residents of Laferrere, who are demanding greater traffic control in the area to prevent new tragedies.
