Traveling by subway without paying: how to activate the 100% refund in September
The benefit refunds 100% of trips with Visa from a mobile device, with a limit of $10,000 per card
Banks and virtual wallets have launched a promotion that refunds up to 100% of the value of trips on the CABA subway. The benefit has a monthly cap of $10,000 per card.
The measure aims to encourage the use of digital payments with NFC technology as an alternative to the traditional SUBE card, TN reported. We explain how to activate it and what the conditions are.

How does the promotion for free subway rides work?
When you pay with a Visa credit, debit, or prepaid card from your phone, the full fare is refunded. For example, if you pay $1071, that amount is credited back to your account.
It is essential that the payment is contactless and made from your phone. Using the physical card doesn't work. First, you need to link it to a digital wallet and then hold your phone near the turnstile.
How much can you save and what is the limit?
The benefit cap is $10,000 per card per month, which is equivalent to almost 100 trips. If you have more than one Visa (for example: debit and credit), you can accumulate refunds on each one.

Which banks and wallets are participating?
The refund applies to any Visa card issued in Argentina from banks such as:
- Galicia, Macro, Santander, BBVA, ICBC, Nación, Ciudad
- Hipotecario, Naranja X, Supervielle, Patagonia, Comafi
- Credicoop, Personal Pay, Brubank, Santa Fe, San Juan
- Entre Ríos, Santa Cruz, Corrientes
The enabled wallets are MODO, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and each bank's apps. Paying with QR doesn't work.

Step by step: how to activate the benefit
- Link your Visa card to a digital wallet (MODO, Google Pay, etc.).
- Activate NFC on your phone.
- Pay by holding your phone near the turnstile (at least one per station is identified).
- Wait for the refund: it is credited within up to 20 business days (or 30 if you use MODO).
