The Donald Trump administration, through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), confirmed that in less than 250 days, more than 2 million illegal immigrants have been expelled from the United States, an unprecedented milestone that reflects the effectiveness of the immigration policies implemented since Trump's return to the White House in January of this year.
According to the DHS, these departures include both formal deportations and voluntary returns, and represent a decisive step toward strengthening border security and controlling illegal immigration. "In less than 250 days, 2 million illegal immigrants have left the United States. And let them stay out!" the agency stated in its official release.

Since taking office, the Trump administration has launched a comprehensive plan for deportations and border control. Operation Safeguard, launched in January 2025, has focused on urban areas and so-called "sanctuary" cities that limit cooperation with federal authorities, quickly arresting and expelling thousands of undocumented immigrants, most of whom are criminals or have criminal records.
