The United States Press Secretary announced today that the White House will issue a decree to restore confidence in the electoral system
President Donald Trump's administration is working on drafting a new executive order to strengthen federal electoral regulations, with the goal of "guaranteeing secure and transparent elections" and preventing what it describes as "cases of blatant fraud" in states that implement universal mail-in voting, especially California.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Tuesday that the Executive is finalizing the document, which will seek to protect the integrity of the democratic process and "restore the American people's confidence in their electoral system." In Leavitt's words, "evidence shows that the universal mail-in voting system in California is vulnerable and prone to abuse."
According to her explanation, the model implemented by that state "opens the door to manipulation of the voter registry and the casting of ballots in the name of people who shouldn't participate in the elections, including illegal foreigners or inactive voters."
Leavitt stated that the administration possesses information that "solidly supports" those accusations and that it will be presented publicly once the executive order is signed.

"It's a fact: there is fraud in California's elections. We know this from multiple reports and testimonies. Their universal mail-in voting system is fertile ground for fraud," the spokesperson stated. She added that the president "won't allow the weakening of electoral controls in some states to put the legitimacy of the entire national system at risk."
The measure is part of the Executive's response to the recent elections in California, where voters decided on an initiative related to the redistricting of congressional districts for the House of Representatives.
Hours after the polls opened, Trump denounced on Truth Social that the process was a gigantic fraud and "an unconstitutional scam," pointing out that mail-in voting is under serious legal and criminal review.
The president has questioned California's electoral system for years, attributing to it alleged cases of participation by unregistered voters or foreigners. These concerns, the White House argues, date back to the 2016 elections, when Trump won nationally but denounced massive irregularities in California's registry.

According to government sources, the upcoming executive order will include a national review of voter registries, the establishment of stricter identification requirements, and greater controls over mail-in voting, in order to ensure that each ballot corresponds to a legally registered voter. It would also include mechanisms for cooperation between states and the Department of Justice to investigate allegations of electoral fraud.
Leavitt emphasized that this is not a partisan measure, but a defense of the basic principle of democracy: that every legitimate vote counts only once. "Nothing is more important than confidence in our elections. If Americans believe their vote can be nullified by false votes, we lose the heart of our republican system," she declared.
The spokesperson also stated that there are "countless examples" of irregularities linked to mail-in voting in California, citing cases of ballots sent to incorrect addresses, duplicate registrations, and alleged attempts to manipulate the electoral roll. "We are committed to presenting that evidence and taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again," she insisted.

The announcement comes one year before the midterm legislative elections, where control of Congress is at stake. For the Trump administration, the new executive order seeks to get ahead of potential irregularities and strengthen citizens' confidence in the integrity of the process.
"This president firmly believes that democracy is protected with transparency, accountability, and clear rules," Leavitt concluded. "If we want free and fair elections, we must close the loopholes that allow fraud, and California is the example of why this is urgent."
