Trump and Elon Musk agreed to cease hostilities and deleted the tweets.
After a series of hostile tweets, both agreed to peace for the good of the United States
In recent days, U.S. politics has been marked by a turbulent discussion between President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, following a disagreement in which both launched a series of hostilities through the social network X. After both agreed to de-escalate, the posts in which they discredited each other were deleted.
The posts, which were made on the afternoon of last Thursday, became increasingly heated and caused significant repercussions on social media. The origin of the posts came after the tech magnate's strong criticism of the "Big Beautiful Bill," a law promoted by Trump that Musk did not favor.
The former director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) began by launching strong criticism of the law and quickly started making strong unfounded accusations against the U.S. president.

In response to these accusations, the Republican president claimed that the magnate was upset because a close ally of the SpaceX owner had not been appointed to an important role at NASA.
The series of statements continued to escalate, to the point that the discussion shifted from the economic and political sphere to a personal environment, in which Trump suggested that Musk has behavioral problems related to drug use and Musk made an unfortunate comment.
One of the strongest exchanges between the two was Musk's comment in which he accused Trump of "being on Jeffrey Epstein's list." Thousands of users replied to the post, pointing out that the magnate had left his own son in the president's care, which seems odd if Musk considered Trump a "pedophile."
After a series of conciliatory conversations between the two through intermediaries, both agreed to mutually cease hostilities and Musk deleted all his tweets that defamed the Republican.

Despite assuring that both promised not to relapse into aggression, the relationship between them would not have a way back, so the South African-born magnate would no longer have influence in the government and his people in DOGE would leave the government in the coming days.
Through statements to some media outlets, the U.S. president wished the businessman luck and through social media, the South African replied in kind.
In light of the cessation of hostilities, Elon Musk also would have backed down on his threat via Twitter to shut down his "Dragon" spacecraft project.

However, Musk's decision to continue engaging in U.S. politics is clear. The owner of Twitter has maintained a poll on his profile for several days highlighting the need for a new political party to break the current bipartisan system.
Regarding the criticism the magnate made about the Republican Party, figures such as U.S. Vice President JD Vance, claimed that the relationship with the president is stronger than ever. Additionally, Vance reaffirmed Trump's leadership within the party and dispelled any doubts about internal tensions.
