The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Monday that negotiations with Iran are “going very well” and publicly called for several Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords, the historic diplomatic pact promoted during his first term to normalize relations between Israel and Arab nations.
In a lengthy message posted on Truth Social, Trump maintained that he seeks to consolidate a new regional architecture based on economic cooperation, political stability, and strategic alliances between the United States, Israel, and the Arab world.
Trump assured that talks with Iran are progressing
The American leader noted that Washington is having positive discussions with the Iranian regime, although he made it clear that he will only accept an agreement under favorable conditions for the United States and its allies.
“Negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are going very well,” Trump wrote.
However, he warned that a potential diplomatic failure would have severe consequences.
“It will be a great deal for everyone or no deal at all. If it fails, we will return to the battlefield and to the shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever,” he stated.
The U.S. president wants to expand the Abraham Accords
Trump also revealed that during conversations held on Saturday with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan, he proposed that all these countries simultaneously adhere to the Abraham Accords.
Among the mentioned leaders are Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
According to Trump, the expansion of the agreement would completely transform regional stability and strengthen economic growth in the Middle East.
Trump even proposed including Iran
One of the most striking points of the message was Trump’s suggestion to even incorporate Iran into the regional pact if Tehran ultimately signs an agreement with Washington.
