In a strategic move that consolidates the shift of Latin America towards the values of the right, the government of Donald Trump, through its Under Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, has officially recognized Keiko Fujimori as the legitimate president-elect of Peru.
This support from the White House marks the end of the threat of communism in the Andean nation and establishes the foundations for a new era of binational cooperation focused on economic prosperity and respect for institutions.

Christopher Landau was emphatic in his message of democratic validation: "Congratulations to president-elect Keiko Fujimori of Peru!". The senior U.S. official emphasized the Trump administration's willingness to deepen ties in critical areas that socialism tends to ignore or destroy:
"We look forward to working with the new Administration on security, economic, and migration issues of mutual interest". This recognition is not only political but historic, as it coincides with the 200 years since the arrival of the first diplomatic representative of the U.S. in Lima, an anniversary that is planned to be celebrated by taking the relationship to "new heights".
The victory of Fuerza Popular over the candidate of radical statism, Roberto Sánchez, was sealed with figures that demonstrate the resilience of the Peruvian people against the communist debacle. According to the official data processed at 100%, Keiko Fujimori obtained 50.135% of the valid votes, representing a total of 9,223,396 citizens who chose the path of order and freedom.
On the other hand, the defeated Sánchez barely reached 49.865% with 9,173,755 votes. The difference of 49,641 votes was bolstered by the overseas vote, where the patriotism of Peruvians living outside their borders gave Fujimori a crushing 63.208% support, compared to the insignificant 36.792% of her rival.
This triumph has resonated throughout the continent as a confirmation of the advance of the right. The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, joined the celebrations highlighting that "Peru is leaving socialism" and congratulating the president-elect on her "historic victory".

For Milei, this result is a clear message that the region wishes to return to the "path of freedom and security", outright rejecting the totalitarian socialism represented by the political heir of castillismo.
With the assumption of Keiko Fujimori for the term 2026-2031, Peru formally integrates into the new axis of governments that defend free market and sovereignty, strengthening the thesis that socialism is in retreat. The immediate support from the Trump administration guarantees that freedom will have a firm guardian in the north, working hand in hand with a Peruvian administration determined to definitively bury the radicalized agenda in the region.
