Trump spoke in good terms with Zelensky: Ukraine one step away from peace
The President of the United States described the call he had with the Ukrainian leader in the morning as good
President Donald Trump described a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy as "very good," which took place on Wednesday morning.
The conversation lasted approximately an hour and much of it focused on the discussion Trump had the previous day with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During this call, Trump mentioned that the conversation aimed to align the requests and needs of Russia and Ukraine, highlighting that the positions of both countries were being discussed to move toward a possible resolution of the conflict.

Trump posted a message on social media after the call, detailing that much of the conversation with Zelenskiy was based on the dialogue with Putin, with the intention of addressing the demands of both countries in the context of the war in Ukraine.
He clarified that there were instructions for Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz to provide an accurate description of the points discussed, and he noted that this statement would be issued soon.
This phone meeting between Trump and Zelenskiy marks the first known conversation between the two leaders since the tense confrontation they had in the Oval Office 19 days ago, highlighting the complexity of the relations between the two leaders in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine remains a hot topic on the international stage. In a related development, the Kremlin announced that Russia would temporarily halt attacks on energy infrastructure targets in Ukraine.
However, Putin didn't agree to a broader ceasefire, suggesting that there is still a long road to a lasting peace. A few hours after Russia's announcement, Ukraine and Moscow exchanged new airstrikes overnight, indicating that hostilities continue unabated.
