UEFA confirmed economic and disciplinary sanctions against 14 clubs for failing to comply with financial sustainability regulations, known as Financial Fair Play, following the assessment for the 2025-2026 season. Among the institutions affected by the measures are Juventus, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Aston Villa.
The First Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) analyzed the economic situation of the teams participating in competitions organized by UEFA and detected irregularities related to compliance with the financial rules established by the organization.
One of the most relevant cases is that of Juventus, which agreed to a three-year regularization plan to adjust its accounts before the end of the 2028-2029 season. As part of that agreement, the Italian club received a fine of 20 million euros, although 14 million of that amount will be subject to meeting the economic targets set by UEFA.
