The coronation of Estudiantes de La Plata in the 2025 Clausura Tournament closed a successful semester in sporting terms, but it was marked by constant tensions with the Argentine Football Association. With the trophy already in Pincha's hands, Juan Sebastián Verón once again referred to the conflict that he keeps with executives of the governing body, especially with treasurer Pablo Toviggino, who has been involved in several clashes on social media.
In a conversation with the Cielo Sports stream, La Brujita downplayed the importance of the posts that the AFA executive usually publishes against him. "Some of them reach me but it's not that they change my day, my mood, what I think, or how I can act. It is settled there", he stated.
He added, alluding to the distance between the virtual and the real world: "I was in the same stadium the other day and nobody came to look for me or to confront me or to try to talk to me. Nothing. It ends in a tweet".
In the final against Racing, Verón was present at the Madre de Ciudades stadium in the stands, since he is serving a six-month suspension imposed by AFA after Estudiantes's controversial decision to form a guard of honor for Rosario Central with their backs turned.
Far from lowering the tone, the president of León sent a direct message to his critics: "I'm in the same stadium. People who insulted Estudiantes were removed, imagine that they can come and look for me. We are in the same space. If there is so much courage to tweet, you can be brave enough to come and look for me, there is no problem".
