Pursuit in Villa María: he was arrested for taking down an LGBT flag endorsed by Accastello
The Peronist mayor ordered the LGBT flag to be raised, and the police arrested a citizen who removed it from the public flagpole
A man was arrested this Saturday for taking down an LGBT+ flag from the municipal flagpole located in downtown Villa María. The incident occurred during a symbolic event promoted by the local municipality. The citizen was charged with public disorder and discriminatory expressions.
The activity was part of a commemoration promoted by Ordinance No. 7551, passed in 2021 by the local City Council. This regulation requires the raising of the LGBT+ flag in public spaces on certain dates. The event was organized with public funds and institutional participation.
The incident took place around 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Mitre and Corrientes, in the Centro Sur neighborhood. There, five people were raising the multicolored flag on the main public flagpole. The detained man broke in, expressed his disagreement, and removed the flag.

Express charges and ideological persecution in Córdoba
According to the official report, the citizen was apprehended under articles 63 and 80 of the Code of Coexistence. He is charged with interrupting the event and expressing rejection of the partisan symbol that those present were raising. The prosecutor's office acted with unusual speed to place him at the disposal of the judiciary.
There were no injured persons or major damages, other than the removal of the flag. However, the incident was presented as an "attack". The municipal government rushed to reinforce its alignment with the diversity agenda.
The detainee, a 33-year-old man, was approached at the scene by the police and handcuffed in front of witnesses. Testimonies were collected from the organizers, but it was not reported whether his own version was included. The case was left in the hands of the on-duty prosecutor Roberto Carregio.

Accastello deepens his ideological agenda
The ordinance that provides the framework for the flag raising was approved by a Peronist majority in 2021. With the argument of "promoting diversity," public flagpoles and municipal funds are used to impose symbols foreign to the national identity. The Argentine flag was not present at any point during the event.
LGBT+ organizations celebrated the arrest as a "step forward" and demanded more sanctions against those who think differently. On social media, condemnations multiplied, while no official expressed support for the detainee's freedom of expression. Once again, those who dare to defend traditional values are persecuted.
Instead of guaranteeing order, respect, and freedom, Mayor Eduardo Accastello turns municipal management into a platform for ideological indoctrination. Meanwhile, as insecurity, unemployment, and poverty are hitting Villa María, local Peronism prefers to spend resources on symbolic events, criminalizing those who think differently.
