Thanks to Milei, Volkswagen announced an investment of USD 580 million in Argentina.

The news had been anticipated by the presidential spokesperson in his usual press conference

The presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, announced that Volkswagen Argentina would announce "one of the largest investments in recent decades" in the country, thanks to the macroeconomic stability achieved by Javier Milei's Government.

The automaker will allocate a million-dollar sum for the production of a new medium pickup at its local plant, aiming to strengthen its presence in the regional market, generating jobs in Argentina and boosting economic growth.

According to reports, the new model will begin to be manufactured in Argentina starting in 2027, positioning the country as a key hub for automotive production. This move by Volkswagen reaffirms the private sector's confidence in Milei's Government's economic model, which seeks to attract investments and promote the industry.

This investment plan will generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, in addition to boosting vehicle exports to various international markets.

Volkswagen confirmed the investment, which will be 580 million dollars, for the manufacturing of a new generation of the Amarok, the medium pickup that competes with models like the Toyota Hilux and the Ford Ranger.

"South America will have its own new generation of Amarok," announced the German automaker. This model will be designed exclusively for the region, produced at the Pacheco plant and will be available starting in 2027.

The investment will allow Volkswagen to incorporate state-of-the-art technology in its Buenos Aires factory, improving energy efficiency and optimizing digital processes, with the aim of ensuring operational sustainability both economically and technologically.

Thomas Schäfer, global CEO of Volkswagen, highlighted: "Regional growth and localization are key elements of our global plan for the future. This investment strengthens our position in a strategically important region for the Volkswagen brand. The new Amarok will be developed, designed, and produced in South America, for South America. This means it will be perfectly adapted to the specific needs of our customers in this market."
