Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Javier Milei and praised Argentina's economic achievements
The Ukrainian leader thanked the Argentine president for his support of his country
Argentine President Javier Milei held a phone conversation this Thursday with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, and expressed Argentina's support for efforts to achieve a ceasefire with Russia, the country that invaded Ukraine at the beginning of 2022.
The dialogue took place just a few hours before the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, who reiterated the need to end the armed conflict.
“I had a good conversation with the President of Argentina, Javier Milei. Of course, we discussed the situation diplomatically. I informed him about recent contacts with our partners and emphasized that our position is absolutely clear: Ukraine needs a just peace and reliable security guarantees. Javier is willing to personally collaborate to achieve this. Thank you!” Zelensky wrote on his X account.

In his post, he also highlighted that they addressed the "economic achievements" of Milei's government, especially regarding deregulation and reducing inflation. "I congratulated Javier on these important results. Ukraine is interested in studying this experience and we discussed a possible opportunity to do so," he added.
Zelensky emphasized that relations between both countries "are reaching a truly high level," a point that became evident during the phone call.

“Technology, the economy, the agricultural industry: there are many areas of potential cooperation. We also agreed to resume the format of political consultations between our Ministries of Foreign Affairs. Our teams will work actively to ensure that these are held as soon as possible” he stated.
The Ukrainian leader also thanked his Argentine counterpart for his "participation in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children," and stated that "Together with all our partners, we will work to ensure that all Ukrainian children return home as soon as possible."
Finally, Zelensky invited President Javier Milei to Ukraine: "We agreed on our next contacts and I will be delighted to see Javier in Ukraine," he concluded.
