La Libertad Avanzaconfirmed that José Luis Espert will be the first candidate for national deputy for Buenos Aires Province in the October legislative elections.
The announcement was made by the party's Buenos Aires president, Sebastián Pareja, who formalized the decision that had already been taking shape as a certainty since last year and responds to a direct request from PresidentJavier Milei.
"José Luis, the professor, is the one leading and will be the visible face of that other great team that will go to the National Congress", Pareja stated in an interview with Radio Mitre.

Espert's candidacy is based on his high level of recognition and a platform that combines tough-on-crime proposals—popularizing the slogan "prison or bullet"—with economic alignment with the Executive's policies.
According to ruling party strategists, Espert "is currently the best-performing candidate, without a doubt" in the province.
The list, still in its preliminary configuration, places Diego Santilli in third place. Pareja highlightedhis role in Congress and the value of his presence in a closely contested scenario in Buenos Aires. Alejandro Finocchiaro, former Minister of Education and current deputy, will be included in the top spots, possibly in seventh or ninth place.

Regarding the female quota, the inclusion of Florencia De Sensi, current PRO deputy, was confirmed in a winnable position. Her incorporation, along with that of Santilli and Finocchiaro, responds to the agreement between La Libertad Avanza and Macrismo sealed by Pareja and PRO strategist Cristian Ritondo.
This agreement granted PRO 25% of the potentially winning spots, while the remaining 75% will remain in the hands of the libertarian ruling party.
The formal campaign launch will take place this Thursday in La Plata, where Espertwill share the stage with provincial candidates who will compete in the September 7 elections.
Ruling party sources indicate that the Buenos Aires strategy aims not only to consolidate seats in Congress, but also to expand Milei's territorial base with an eye on the provincial governorship.
