VOX presented a firm legislative initiative in defense of women, public safety, and national identity. The party's spokesperson in Congress, Pepa Millán, announced this Tuesday the presentation of a bill seeking to prohibit the use of the niqab and burka in all public spaces in Spain, as well as penalize the imposition of the Islamic veil, which the party considers a practice contrary to freedom and female dignity.
From VOX's national headquarters, Millán stated that "Spain is at risk of ceasing to be Spain" due to the open borders policy of the contemporary ultra-communist Government. In a press conference, she emphasized that Pedro Sánchez's administration has left women "more unprotected than ever," with figures of rapes and sexual assaults "absolutely alarming."

The spokesperson argued that this situation is aggravated by "the importation of cultures incompatible with ours, with respect for life and the dignity of people". In that regard, she denounced the "imposition of the Islamic veil on women", not only as a security problem, but also as a threat to Spain's cultural identity.
"We must protect our Western identity, our Greco-Latin roots, and the values that have made nations prosper. We must protect women and public safety," Millán emphasized, drawing a clear line of defense against the advance of multiculturalism, which she claimed "has failed spectacularly in our society."
