Wanda Nara sparked a storm on social media over a controversial photo with the Pope.

Wanda Nara  was back in the spotlight after posting an image that many interpreted as disrespectful toward Pope Francis.On social media, users accused her of "mocking" the Supreme Pontiff  right after the false news of his death spread.

The host uploaded a photo to her Instagram account where she posed on Avenida 9 de Julio, with the Obelisk in the background. The controversy arose because Pope Francis's image was projected on the Buenos Aires monument, which many considered an untimely and offensive post.

Criticism, outrage, and aggressive comments

Reactions were quick to follow. A user expressed her disapproval with a strong message: "Why do they defend her so much? Don't they realize that photo is inappropriate? Many people are in mourning. I'm not Catholic, but I respect what the faithful feel at this moment. It's called respect and empathy."

Besides accusations of insensitivity, Wanda was the target of aesthetic criticism. In the comments of the post, several users attacked her for using digital retouching in the image. "Stop with the Photoshop because it's already blatant,"  wrote one user. Other messages mocked her appearance: "Ridiculous, you erased those pimples," and "It's a lie that you accept yourself as you are, because if you did, you'd show yourself without retouching."

Meanwhile, Wanda gave an interview to LAM,on América TV, where she talked about her separation from  Mauro Icardi. Journalist Santiago Riva Roy asked her if there was any possibility of reconciliation with the footballer, to which she replied bluntly: "Yes, yes" —confirming she wouldn't get back with him.

However, the media personality left the door slightly open: "You never know in life. Mauro's dad was with a woman for 17 years and then went back to his first wife. You should never say never."

About the difficult process of her separation, she confessed: "It was very hard for me to make this decision and it brought many consequences that I knew would happen. Today, the truth is that I'm very happy, my children are well, they are stable and very happy living in the country."
