Pamela David's weak apology after accusing Karina Milei on TV
The official refuted the host, and the apology revealed Pamela David's lack of self-criticism
The controversy erupted when Pamela David lightly and irresponsibly stated on television that Karina Milei had "a $35,000 Rolex". The Secretary General of the Presidency did not let the comment pass and replied harshly on X.
"It's false," wrote the President's sister, accompanying her statement with photos of the watch in question. She explained that it was a Grovana worth less than $1,000, purchased before Javier Milei entered politics. Meanwhile, she warned: "Obviously, we'll go to court to claim for these slanders and insults."
The President himself replied bluntly: "UNMASKING HERE A LIAR AND AN OPERATOR... Kukas don't lose their tricks... CIAO!" From there, libertarian leaders and many users joined in with a strong defense of Karina Milei and harsh criticism of the host.

The "apology" that failed to convince
After public pressure and the warning of legal action, David attempted an apology first on X and then live on Desayuno Americano, the show she hosts on América TV. However, her statement sounded more like a haughty attempt at justification than an act of remorse.

"I was wrong... I was looking at photos of a watch that to me was a Rolex and it's not, as she said," she began. But she immediately tried to downplay the mistake: "How could I not apologize if I was wrong? At first I was outraged... I have the Apple Watch, but I take it off because otherwise the messages keep coming in."

The tone revealed a carelessness inappropriate for an accusation of that magnitude, with phrases that only reinforced the controversy:
"To be fair, it's not true, it's not worth $35,000, it's worth $1,000. I offer a thousand apologies to Karina Milei, I hope she accepts them."
"To me it was a Rolex, very similar... but it's not. Issue clarified, guys, I got it off my chest," she revealed.
With uncomfortable silences in the studio, David concluded with a comment that further exposed the lack of self-criticism: "Guys, what a silence. What's going on, are you afraid? I'm serious. What madness, what madness."
The episode ended up leaving the impression that Pamela David's correction was more of a forced formality than a genuine apology.
