The Personajes del Año gala once again brought together figures from the entertainment, television, and music industries, but this year the absence of two names caused a stir: La China Suárez and La Joaqui.
The editorial decision to leave them off the cover sparked speculation and accusations on social media, where some users pointed directly at Wanda Nara.
Upon arriving at the event and speaking with Puro Show (eltrece), the host did not avoid the topic and was blunt when asked about it.
Wanda's response regarding La China and La Joaqui
When the reporter asked her why La Joaqui had not been invited for the group photo, Wanda reacted with surprise: "Why? What happened with La Joaqui?" she said at first, trying to distance herself from the rumor.
After the journalist replied, claiming that it was said she had requested the singer not be present, the host was unequivocal: "No, guys. How could I ask for something like that, if I requested her for my cast and she's part of my show's cast? It's ridiculous."
The reporter pressed further and wanted to know if she thought La China Suárez should have been chosen for the cover.

The media personality emphasized that she has no influence whatsoever over the magazine's decisions, and that her presence at the gala is solely due to her participation as an invited figure.
When asked whom she would choose as person of the year, Wanda admitted that it was impossible for her to pick just one: "Oh, I don't know, there are so many... I'm very grateful to Gente magazine, which has noticed my work for several years now."
She also explained why she arrived at the last minute: "I finished filming a commercial very late and came straight here, but well..." she said, laughing and apologizing.
Before leaving, the press tried to ask her about the arrest of her former lawyer, Nicolás Payarola, but Wanda ended the conversation: "I'm going to talk about myself. I wasn't summoned. I have nothing to say, guys."
