Charlie Kirk, a highly influential conservative leader and founder of Turning Point USA, was killed by a left-wing terrorist with a gunshot to the neck during a conference at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
The political figure, one of the main exponents of youth conservatism in the United States, was participating in his tour titled "American Comeback" when the attack occurred.
Kirk had become a central figure in American politics. Born on October 14, 1993, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, he was known for his advocacy of conservative principles, free market economics, and reducing the size of government.

In 2012, he founded Turning Point USA (TPUSA), an organization he managed to expand to more than 3,500 colleges and university campuses across all 50 states. This development consolidated Kirk's public and political profile, and he also led other related initiatives, such as Turning Point Action and Turning Point Faith.
In public appearances, Kirk described TPUSA's mission as "a platform for young people who want to defend capitalism and constitutional principles," according to Politico.
