Charlie Kirk, a highly influential conservative leader and founder of Turning Point USA, was killed by a left-wing terrorist with a gunshot to the neck during a conference at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
The political figure, one of the main exponents of youth conservatism in the United States, was participating in his tour titled "American Comeback" when the attack occurred.
Kirk had become a central figure in American politics. Born on October 14, 1993, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, he was known for his advocacy of conservative principles, free market economics, and reducing the size of government.

In 2012, he founded Turning Point USA (TPUSA), an organization he managed to expand to more than 3,500 colleges and university campuses across all 50 states. This development consolidated Kirk's public and political profile, and he also led other related initiatives, such as Turning Point Action and Turning Point Faith.
In public appearances, Kirk described TPUSA's mission as "a platform for young people who want to defend capitalism and constitutional principles," according to Politico.
On that basis, Turning Point USA came to have more than 350 full-time employees and launched campaigns against left-wing indoctrination in schools and universities in the United States.
Charlie Kirk's influence went beyond student activism. Since October 2020, he had hosted The Charlie Kirk Show, a radio program broadcast daily by The Answer network, part of Salem Media Group. In 2024, its podcast version reached peaks of up to 750,000 downloads per day.

With his ability to connect with millions of listeners and online users, totaling more than 14 million followers on social media and an estimated monthly reach of 150 million, he established himself as one of the most influential conservative communicators in the United States.
In February 2025, Kirk signed a contract with Trinity Broadcasting Network to host a daily interview program called "Charlie Kirk Today." This step further expanded his media presence and solidified him as one of the central voices of conservatism in the United States.
In addition to his role as a communicator, Kirk turned to writing to influence the political discussion. He published works such as Campus Battlefield, The MAGA Doctrine, and The College Scam: How America’s Universities Are Bankrupting and Brainwashing Away the Future of America’s Youth, books that had a significant impact in conservative circles.
Despite being one of the most open to dialogue and respectful of all those who think differently, the far left killed him yesterday with a gunshot to the neck at Utah Valley University, during the presentation of his "American Comeback Tour."
