Woman dismembered and cooked her ex in Villa Dolores: the court gave her only 13 years
The crime shocked Traslasierra due to its brutality. He was convicted of simple homicide after a summary trial
María Emilse Molina was sentenced this Wednesday to 13 years in prison for brutally murdering her ex-partner. The crime took place in May 2024, in the town of Nono (Córdoba), and caused national shock due to the violence and the level of premeditation. The woman killed Omar Cabrera with a rolling pin, dismembered him, boiled his remains, and threw them in bags into the La Viña dam.
The trial was brief and without appeals, after the defendant admitted to being the perpetrator of the murder. The agreement was sealed by prosecutor Sergio Cuello and Molina's defense attorney, and ratified by Judge Santiago Camogli. The sentence was upheld as simple homicide, even though Molina had initially been charged with aggravated homicide for greed.

Changes in the charges and reduced sentence
The first prosecutor, Analía Gallarato, had requested life imprisonment due to the economic motive of the crime. Article 80 of the Penal Code provides for that sentence if greed is proven, but the Criminal Court changed the legal classification. With this new classification, the trial quickly reached Villa Dolores, where the minimum sentence for such an atrocity was handed down.
The defendant confessed to the acts and guided officers to the place where she disposed of the man's remains. Police found parts of Cabrera's body in black bags at the tail of the La Viña Dam, in Las Rabonas. He had been cooked and dismembered to facilitate transport on public transportation over several days.

Casual relationship
Omar Cabrera was a former soldier and had settled in Mina Clavero, where he met Molina at a local restaurant. Both worked in Arroyo de Los Patos and lived together for a time before the crime, which was premeditated. The man disappeared on April 26, but the report was not officially filed until May 1 with the local police.
More than 50 personnel, including firefighters, DUAR, and police officers, participated in the search operation. The brutality of the murder and the defendant's methodical behavior surprised even the investigators. Despite all this, the sentence was only 13 years in prison by decision of the local court and the intervening prosecutor's office.
