Villa Dolores: Former Córdoba police officer sentenced to 20 years in prison for intrafamilial abuse

The former member of the force was sentenced after admitting to having committed multiple sexual abuses against three relatives

A former member of the Córdoba Police was sentenced to 20 years in prison after confessing to sexually abusing three members of his family. The verdict was issued by the Villa Dolores Criminal Court, in the Traslasierra Valley, Córdoba, as part of a summary trial.

The convicted man, 33 years old, was found guilty of extremely serious crimes, including simple sexual abuse and aggravated corruption of minors, among other charges. Two of the victims were minors at the time of the events, while the third was an adult.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case and to protect the victims' identities, only the perpetrator was identified by his initials: D.A.G. The accused is originally from the city of Córdoba and already had similar prior offenses in the past.

Previous record and expulsion from the force

D.A.G.'s criminal record is not recent: in 2014, while serving as an officer in the provincial capital, he was convicted of sexual abuse. That first verdict resulted in a four-year prison sentence and his subsequent expulsion from the security force.

The crimes for which he has now been sentenced include a combination of aggravated criminal offenses, such as obscene exhibitions and promotion of the corruption of minors. The court determined that there was criminal continuity, which further aggravated the sentence imposed.

The 20-year sentence was agreed upon in a summary trial, a proceeding in which the defendant accepted his guilt. With this procedure, a lengthy process is avoided, although the severity of the sentence and the charges are not reduced.
