YouTube adds 'Premium Lite' in Argentina: how it works and what changes

YouTube launched a new paid subscription option in Argentina: Premium Lite, a cheaper alternative to the full plan.

This new subscription allows watching videos without ads on almost the entire platform, but with several limited features compared to the traditional Premium service.

What is YouTube Premium Lite?

It is a subscription that allows watching most YouTube videos without ads on different devices. It targets users who consume educational content, tutorials, or video game streaming and want to reduce interruptions without paying for the more expensive subscription.

It has been available since May 2025 in Argentina and has a monthly price of $1,299 (current value at the time of the announcement). The price difference compared to the full Premium plan makes it an intermediate alternative.

What YouTube Premium Lite includes

• Works on cell phones, computers, tablets, Smart TVs, and consoles.
