YPF and Santander Argentina announced a new feature that marks a leap in the local digital ecosystem. Starting in May, users of the YPF App will be able to generate returns on the money available in their account
.The tool will allow balances to start generating interest automatically, simply and transparently, with prior acceptance by the user.
A key function for the daily use of money
The objective is clear: to transform the app into a comprehensive platform
.“Account money is today the most used payment method within the application,” explained Mauro Cercós, general manager of YPF Digital.
With this innovation, the company seeks to:
Increase the use of the account balance
Incentivize savings within the app
Offer a competitive rate in the market

How the new tool works The
system will be automatic. The user must not move their money or carry out additional operations.
Once the function is activated:
The available balance will begin to generate performance
Management will be transparent
Access will be direct from the app
Financial infrastructure will be managed by Santander, while investment management will be managed by Santander Asset
Management.
Direct competition with fintechs
The initiative positions the YPF App within the field of
digital wallets. The model aims to compete with platforms that already offer returns on balances.
