Daniel Noboa will travel to Japan and Vietnam with ministers and secretaries.

The president seeks to strengthen diplomatic ties and attract investments in strategic sectors

President Daniel Noboa announced that between August 24 and September 2, 2025, he will undertake an official tour to Japan and Vietnam. The trip comes just a few days after his visits to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.

The presidential agenda was established in Executive Decree 110, which details that six ministers and secretaries will accompany him on this international mission. The main objective is to strengthen political and economic ties in Asia.

The delegation includes Gabriela Sommerfeld, Foreign Minister; Franklin Palacios, Minister of Agriculture; Luis Jaramillo, Minister of Production; Inés Manzano, Minister of Energy; Irene Vélez, Secretary of Communication; and José Julio Neira, Secretary of Public Integrity.

The Government indicated that the travel expenses will be covered by the budget of each institution. The Secretariat of Administration will be responsible for coordinating logistical support during the tour.

In Japan, Noboa plans to meet with Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru. According to the presidential spokesperson, this meeting represents a strategic opportunity to consolidate bilateral relations and open new possibilities for cooperation.

The agenda includes the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) and Pro Ecuador, with the president as an honorary witness. The agreement seeks to expand trade and investment opportunities.

The Executive considers Japan a key partner in sectors such as renewable energy, agribusiness, fishing, technology, and infrastructure. Attracting foreign direct investment is seen as a priority step for the country's sustainable development.

With this new tour, Daniel Noboa reaffirms his international outreach strategy, strengthening alliances on different continents. The Government expects that the agreements reached will translate into tangible benefits for Ecuador's economy and global integration.
