The new Assembly consolidated the government's leadership in its first month
The pro-government bloc managed to pass key laws and neutralize the Correísta offensive
June 14 marked the first month of legislative work, and the National Assembly has already experienced moments of high tension. From the inaugural session, the ruling Acción Democrática Nacional (ADN) bloc consolidated its dominance with the support of independents, Pachakutik, and part of the Partido Social Cristiano.
Thanks to that majority, the Government obtained the presidency of the Legislature, control of the CAL, and of the main standing committees, leaving Revolución Ciudadana without decision-making power.
During this period, two urgent economic laws promoted by President Daniel Noboa were approved. The first, known as the National Solidarity Law, included reforms to the Penal Code and other key regulations to combat organized crime. The second, focused on public efficiency, is in the final stage of approval.
In addition, the controversial Intelligence Law was approved, which strengthens the State's capabilities to prevent threats, despite criticism from correísmo, which insists on spreading misinformation about its content.

Meanwhile, correísmo experienced internal fractures with the expulsion of legislators such as Sergio Peña and David Arias, who supported Executive initiatives. The departure of other actors demonstrates that the correísta narrative is losing strength even among its own members.
Finally, the CAL sanctioned Ronal González with 30 days of unpaid suspension for inappropriate acts in the Plenary. This fact demonstrates that the Assembly will not tolerate behavior that undermines institutional integrity.
Judge Santiago Altairano also ratified the legality of the May 14 legislative procedure, dismissing Revolución Ciudadana's attempt to delegitimize the current CAL. The first month of the new Assembly confirmed that Daniel Noboa's Government has an effective majority to advance its agenda. The laws passed and institutional firmness show that #ElNuevoEcuador doesn't stop, while the old correísta model disintegrates amid sanctions, defections, and parliamentary failures.
