Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa and lawyer Luisa González, political ally of former President Rafael Correa, will star in a new decisive electoral contest. The runoff will determine who will govern Ecuador for the next four years, in a scenario marked by the rise of violence and insecurity.
Both candidates already faced off in the extraordinary presidential elections of 2023, in which Noboa was elected to complete Guillermo Lasso's unfinished term. Now, the confrontation gains new strength in a more complex political and social context.
