More than 10% of voters have already voted; the day progresses normally

The citizens went to the polls early in the presidential runoff

The National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that by 8:00 this Sunday, 10.21% of eligible voters had already cast their votes. This data reflects early and massive participation, which demonstrates the high democratic commitment of citizens in this presidential runoff.

The president of the CNE, Diana Atamaint, confirmed that 95% of the voting boards were installed normally. 85% were formed with their main members, 13% with substitutes, and the rest with citizens in line, according to the current electoral regulations.

Daniel Noboa, current president and center-right candidate, seeks to consolidate a modern governance model, based on security, technology, and youth employment. In contrast, Luisa González, representative of correísmo, proposes a return to the socialist model already questioned for its institutional and economic impact.

During the first hour of voting, some minor incidents were recorded. In Palenque (Los Ríos), the Police detained a board member and a voter for attempting to deliver two ballots. In Loja and Sangolquí, citizens reported marked fake ballots, prompting the intervention of the Armed Forces.

Due to the rains, 24 polling stations were relocated in Cotopaxi, Santa Elena, Manabí, Loja, Morona Santiago, Guayas, Los Ríos, and El Oro. Despite these inconveniences, the logistics of the process worked effectively, guaranteeing the right to vote.

"The citizenry has demonstrated its democratic commitment and the electoral system has replied efficiently," declared Atamaint from the CNE headquarters in Quito. The day remains under strict institutional surveillance to ensure its transparency and legitimacy.

With early participation, timely logistical adjustments, and reinforced surveillance, Ecuador is experiencing a key day between two opposing visions: the democratic and orderly continuity represented by Noboa, or the return to a socialist model that has already shown its shortcomings.
