The signed document also completes the full disarmament of the Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah, supported by the Iranian regime

With the sponsorship of President Donald Trump, Israel and Lebanon sealed a framework agreement this Friday that paves the way for peace between both nations and aims for the complete disarmament of Hezbollah and the dismantling of its terrorist network, in addition to the implementation of "pilot zones" in territories previously controlled by the pro-Iran group.

The signing ceremony between the parties took place in Washington and was attended by the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, who emphasized that this trilateral understanding "begins to establish a framework for lasting peace and security", although he warned that "there is much work ahead."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrated the signing of the document and described it as a victory against Iran. The Likud leader specified that, under the conditions of the pact, the Lebanese army will be authorized to return to two "pilot zones" to begin taking charge of sectors in southern Lebanon, but clarified that Israeli forces will remain in the security zone until Hezbollah is fully disarmed.

"Iran has been trying to force us to withdraw from southern Lebanon through pressure, but in practice Israel, Lebanon, and the United States are telling them: 'This is not your business'", declared Netanyahu. "You have no role in Lebanon; neither you, nor Hezbollah, nor any terrorist organization."

The Iranian regime and Hezbollah reject the agreement

The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, also positively valued this framework and considered it a "first step" to allow Lebanese civilians to return to their homes. "We swear to continue working until this is fully achieved. There will be no more occupation, prisoners, subordination, or tutelage," emphasized the former general.

However, Hassan Fadlallah, a parliamentarian from Hezbollah and one of the most influential figures within the organization, flatly rejected the agreement and even threatened to unleash a civil war if the Lebanese government attempts to proceed with the disarmament of the Iranian regime-funded terrorist militia.

Iran, for its part, must stop thinking about its proxies and focus on fulfilling the interim agreement it signed with the U.S. last week. That document specifies that the enriched uranium reserves of the Islamic theocracy - estimated before the war at 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% - must be diluted under the strict supervision of the IAEA.
