The Trump administration activated the use for the first time in history of the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, to initiate the deportation process of a fundamentalist linked to ISIS whose relatives were arrested for planning an attack on election day.

Nazira Haji Zada, her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and her son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tawhed, were arrested by the FBI and charged with international terrorism following an investigation in which they are accused of transporting underage relatives to a territory in Afghanistan controlled by ISIS while they remained on U.S. soil planning an attack.

"The FBI has obtained information that NAZIRA is an ISIS sympathizer, has formally pledged allegiance to ISIS, and has supported the conspiracy of TAWHEDI and ABDULLAH. The FBI is also aware that NAZIRA, in collaboration with TAWHEDI, worked to indoctrinate her children with ISIS ideology and make them pledge allegiance to ISIS," part of the arrest warrant states.

A tool that was never used

The Attorney General of the administration, Todd Blanche, explained that the Alien Terrorist Removal Court is a secret and parallel court that Congress created over 30 years ago to remove foreign terrorists from the United States who should never have been in the country.

"The charges in this case show the matriarch of a family sympathetic to ISIS helping in a plot to launch a massive attack against American voters on election day. The Department's request to this court makes it clear that terrorists have no place in the United States of America," summarized the head of the Justice Department.

What is truly novel about this matter is that the aforementioned court, since its establishment in 1996, has never before been used. The government submitted a request for Nazira to be deported on July 16, and if this request is granted by the judge, Trump would make history.
