Conservative activist Laura Loomer and journalist Desiree Townsend claimed on Monday that Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, known for his opposition to President Donald Trump, has been declared "brain dead", a claim that the spokesperson for the Kentucky representative denied today.
Loomer wrote on X that, according to a high-level source close to the White House, McConnell had been declared brain dead and was not expected to recover. Townsend confirmed her colleague's message, stating that she had heard the same information from other sources.
"I've been hearing the same thing from my sources for days," Townsend reported. "Right now, I'm at the hospital in case they finally decide to disconnect him from life support and move his body. His Capitol Police escort is still here at 3:39 PM (Eastern Time)," the reporter stated.
McConnell was reelected in 2020 and will end his term in a few months
A mysterious and inexplicable trip to the CCP headquarters
McConnell, 84 years old, was admitted to the hospital on June 14, although news about his health condition has only started to emerge in recent days. The senator is the longest-serving Republican leader in U.S. history—18 years in total, having been elected by his colleagues for the first time in 2007—and is serving his last term, which ends in January.
Three days after he was hospitalized, his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, inexplicably decided to travel to Beijing, where she met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. It has long been rumored that Chao has well-established ties with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and with the Xi Jinping regime.
Despite McConnell's team stating that the senator continues to improve in the hospital and is fulfilling his duties in an attempt to dispel growing rumors, mysteriously, no medical updates have been provided, nor has there been any detailed information about the health of the veteran politician.
