Republican senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul released a new batch of emails obtained from the account of Dr. Anthony Fauci, when he was the top health official in charge of managing the pandemic.
In the correspondence, Dr. Janet Woodcock, then acting commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), writes to Fauci reporting that patients of some doctors she knew were suffering adverse events after getting vaccinated against the Chinese flu.
"The symptoms do not fit a distinctive syndrome and most cannot be quantified or easily assessed with standard laboratory tests", Woodcock wrote. "These problems are not the type that a system like VAERS [the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System] could detect," she added.
In the same email, Woodcock believed that health authorities should conduct a study, although she doubted that the industry would support it "for obvious reasons." "But my experience is that if you let a problem fester, it will come back to bite you and you won't be prepared," warned the senior health official.
Fauci receives his colleague's email, forwards it to Dr. Francis Collins, and asks for the opinion of then-director Rochelle Walensky: "Woodcock is asking what we think about this. We cannot ignore it. We should probably involve the CDC and see what they think", the communication reads, but it is unclear if Walensky was ever consulted.
