Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the communist mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, were seen laughing together on Friday morning while families honored their loved ones who were victims of the September 11 terrorist attack.
The moment when AOC and Mamdani were laughing together during the memorial event for the 25th anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers was captured by cameras and immediately shared on social media. Both far-left politicians received a torrent of criticism.
"How the hell do you laugh while the names of the 9/11 victims are read aloud? Why would you do something like that?" expressed Texas Senator Ted Cruz. "After thousands of family members of terror victims pleaded with Mamdani not to attend, he stands there laughing while families cry. This is the mayor of New York," noted New York Councilwoman Inna Vernikov.
Family members of the 9/11 victims had asked Mamdani a few days earlier to refrain from attending any events commemorating the 25th anniversary of the attack. The Ugandan mayor not only ignored the request but also issued a statement on Thursday night that failed to mention that radical Muslims killed thousands of Americans in a terrorist attack.
