The President of the United States, Donald Trump, sent a new amended peace proposal with greater demands regarding enriched uranium and the Strait of Hormuz to Tehran this Sunday after meeting with his advisors in the Situation Room last Friday.
What Trump requested is more specific language regulating how and when the highly enriched uranium held by the Iranian regime would be transferred, in addition to reviewing the conditions for the future reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This hardening of the president's stance aims to force a quick response from Iran.
This framework agreement would extend the truce negotiated between the parties more than two months ago by 60 days while indirect negotiations continue regarding the regime's nuclear program, sanctions relief, frozen Iranian assets, and maritime security around Hormuz.

Trump will only accept an agreement that benefits the U.S.
White House officials and the president himself have repeatedly stated that the U.S. "will only sign an agreement that is good for the United States, that meets its red lines, and guarantees that Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon", dismissing any possibility that this pact resembles the one signed by former President Barack Obama in 2015.
