Trump announced a peace agreement framework with the regime on Saturday
On Saturday, Trump announced that he had negotiated with Iran a framework for a peace agreement that included a 60-day ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the regime's renunciation of its enriched uranium reserves, and a truce between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
In exchange for the regime reopening the Strait of Hormuz and abandoning its nuclear program, the U.S. would release some withheld funds and lift sanctions on Iranian oil exports, but the Islamic dictatorship must first take the initiative for the agreement framework to be fulfilled.
Trump also announced on Monday that he seeks to require all Middle Eastern countries acting as mediators in the conflict - Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar, among others - to join the Abraham Accords and ensure lasting peace with the state of Israel as a condition for the deal.
