The acting director of National Intelligence (DNI), Bill Pulte, is preparing to fire a "large number" of members of the intelligence community belonging to the Deep State in the United States.
That was the order that Donald Trump has given to Pulte according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. The president wants to reduce the size of federal intelligence agencies and clean it of politicized officials who entered the State during previous administrations.
"I would like to see it smaller. I think there are a lot of people there who shouldn't be", Trump stated regarding the 18 federal intelligence units and agencies that the United States has, pointing to the remnants of the Biden and Obama administrations.

Pulte is resisted by establishment Republicans
Trump surprised both supporters and critics when he nominated Pulte, current director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and president of the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as his intelligence chief.
"William has deep experience managing the most sensitive issues in the United States: the security and soundness of the markets, and over $10 trillion in Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago. During this period, he will continue as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and president of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. The nomination was met with skepticism by some lawmakers and senators mostly aligned with the Republican Party establishment. So much so that three Republican senators joined the Democrats on Thursday and voted to block Pulte's interim appointment as the government's chief spy.
However, the amendment to block the appointment of the new Trump official failed after a vote of 49 to 49, with only three establishment senators - Cassidy, Collins, and Murkowski - joining the initiative sponsored by the Democrats.
