The President of the United States, Donald Trump, held a private meeting this Thursday at the White House with the socialist president of Brazil, Lula Da Silva, where issues such as trade between the two countries and tariffs were discussed.
Trump said that the meeting was positive and that “our representatives are scheduled to meet to discuss certain key elements,” adding that “additional meetings will be scheduled over the next few months, as needed.”
Although it had been anticipated that the two leaders would have contact with the press and hold a joint press conference, hours later it was confirmed that the meeting would be held in private. Breitbart News reported that Lula wanted the meeting to be without journalists out of fear of questions that might be asked and because Trump reproached the socialist leader for his
anti-American behavior.
