President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday morning and was greeted by a crowd and with popular fervor as he descended from Air Force One.
Trump and his entourage, which includes high-ranking officials from his government and executives from the most important American companies, were received by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and the Chinese ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng. Han is a powerful member of the Chinese government structure and the highest-ranking official of the communist regime who attended Trump's second inauguration as president in January 2025.
This is the first time a U.S. president has visited China in nine years. The previous visitor was also Trump, in 2017 during his first presidency.
The reception ceremony for Trump featured a red carpet and a military honor guard along with a band, as well as about three hundred students waving Chinese and American communist flags while chanting "Welcome!" in Mandarin. The Republican magnate responded to the reception with his classic fist in the air.
Under a climate of maximum security and popular fervor, China welcomed Trump and his entourage with honors.

The route that took Trump from the airport to his hotel was also lined with American and Chinese communist flags, while the tall buildings along the route were illuminated with a phrase in Chinese that read "Beijing welcomes you."
Beijing residents recorded with their phones the passage of Trump's entourage and the massive security operation deployed. The mood among the Chinese public seemed optimistic, with comments like "China and the U.S. shake hands to move forward together and create a bright future!" according to videos published by state media affiliated with the CCP regime.
Security in Beijing was significantly reinforced for Trump's arrival. Two U.S. officials confirmed that the president will be staying at the Four Seasons hotel in the northeast, located less than half a mile from the U.S. embassy in the Chinese capital. The American leader is expected to meet with Xi Jinping next Thursday, in a key official visit that will last until Friday.
