31 years after the attack on AMIA, Israel once again points to Iran
A new report from the Ministry of the Diaspora denounces the influence of the terrorist regime in the attack
Today marks 31 years since the most brutal attack committed on Argentine soil:the bombing of the AMIA headquarters, which left 85 dead and more than 300 injured. Three decades later, Argentine justice has clearly identified the Iranian regime as the mastermind behind the attack, carried out through the terrorist group Hezbollah. Meanwhile, as the victims demand justice, Tehran not only continues to deny its responsibility: it keeps expanding its networks in the region.
A recent report by the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and the Fight Against Antisemitism of the State of Israel titled "Iran's Tentacles in Latin America" documents the concerning influence of the ayatollahs' regime in Argentina.
The 13-page dossier exposes the ties of Sheikh Abdul Karim Paz — imam of the At-Tauhid Mosque in Buenos Aires — with the Iranian theocracy, as well as his collaboration with figures such as Moshen Rabbani, identified as one of the masterminds of the attack.
The report asserts that Paz and his associates, including his wife and other activists linked to radical Shiism, are part of a cell based in Buenos Aires whose objective is to spread antisemitic propaganda and defend Iran's interests.

All this, while it is known that Iran keeps sleeper cells in the Tri-Border Area, ready to act under direct orders from Ali Khamenei.
In the face of this persistent threat, collaboration between Israel and Argentina becomes crucial. Unlike the complicit silence of other international actors, Israel continues to provide information and support to judicial investigations. Argentina under Javier Milei has demonstrated a commitment to the pursuit of truth.
While Iran accuses Argentina before the UN for its closeness to Israel, the real crime that can't be forgotten is that of July 18, 1994. Memory demands justice. Justice demands truth.
