Flights to Israel return to normal after the victory over Iran
This is a clear sign of stabilization and international confidence in Israel's security
After months of uncertainty caused by the war, Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv is beginning to regain its usual pace. In recent days, at least 120 new flights have been added to the August schedule as a result of the early return of several international airlines that are once again betting on Israel as a safe destination.
Among the companies that have announced the resumption of their operations are the Lufthansa Group (which includes Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings), the American airline United Airlines, the Hungarian Wizz Air, and the Greek Aegean Airlines.
The most significant resumption comes from United Airlines, which will resume operating the Tel Aviv–New York/Newark route starting July 21 with 14 weekly flights, totaling 56 monthly flights. Meanwhile, Wizz Air will gradually begin its services from August 8 with flights to Larnaca and Budapest, adding destinations such as Dubai, London, Vienna, Milan, Rome, Iași, and Sofia in the following weeks. Its frequencies are expected to increase from 10 to 18 weekly flights by the end of the month.

Aegean Airlines has also confirmed its return starting July 14, with flights to Athens, Crete, and Larnaca, and soon to Mykonos and Thessaloniki. Although tickets are not yet available on its website, the airline has already activated its logistical operations.
The Lufthansa Group, which in April operated 60 weekly flights to Israel, will gradually resume its services starting August 1, although it has not yet confirmed the exact destinations.
The normalization of air traffic is seen as a clear sign of stabilization and international confidence in Israel's security. After months of empty skies and cancellations, the return of flights is, in more than one sense, a forced landing toward hope.
