The IDF eliminated one of Yarden Bibas's kidnappers.
The Israeli army confirmed the death of the terrorist who captured Shiri's husband and the father of Ariel and Kfir
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced on Tuesday the elimination of Jihad Kamal Salem Najjar, a Hamas terrorist who participated in the abduction of Yarden Bibas during the massacre of October 7, 2023, at Kibbutz Nir Oz.
Najjar was killed in a military operation on August 10, both organizations confirmed in a joint statement.
After the news became public, Yarden Bibas publicly expressed his gratitude to the Israeli security forces:
"Today, a small part of my wound has closed. Thanks to the army, Shin Bet, and everyone who took part in eliminating one of the terrorists who abducted me on October 7. Thanks to you, he will no longer be able to harm anyone else."

Bibas added that he is still waiting for true closure with the return of the 48 hostages who remain in Gaza, including his close friend, the Argentine David Cunio:
"Please, keep being heroes. I am waiting for complete closure with the return of David, Ariel and the other hostages."
The Bibas family became one of the most painful symbols of the October 7 massacre.
Yarden's wife, Shiri, and their young children, Ariel and Kfir, were killed in Gaza. Their remains were returned to Israel in February 2024, where they were buried.
In April of this year, the Israeli army also confirmed the elimination of Mohammed Hassan Mohammed Awad, a senior commander of Hamas military intelligence and one of the leaders of the massacre in Nir Oz, directly involved in the murder of Shiri and her children.
During his captivity, Yarden revealed that he personally asked the Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, to allow him to remain with his best friend, David Cunio, who remains abducted.
Hamas, in an act of cruelty, informed him on camera of the death of his wife and children, telling him that their lives "did not matter".
