Between tickets for Six Flags, self-improvement courses, and gifts, deputies spent 60 million pesos.
The Chamber of Deputies spent over 60 million pesos on a little-used bridge, brand-name clothing, gifts, and outings.
In a recent investigation, it was documented that the Chamber of Deputies spent 60,099,571 pesos in 2024 irresponsibly. All despite the policy of republican austerity promoted by Morenaa.
The person in charge of authorizing these expenses was the official deputy Armando Contreras Castillo. He was then heading the Administration Committee, composed of seven legislators.

The magazine Proceso made this account considering only the disbursements on activities and items not directly related to the legislative work of the deputies.
What did the deputies spend our money on?
One of the most significant expenses was the construction of the Bicentennial Bridge of the Federal Constitution of 1824 that connects the Legislative Palace with the former San Lázaro Garita.
This work, initially awarded to Corporación Integral Bedrok for 26.6 million pesos, ended up being executed by another company. This company was SAIDPRO, SA de CV, however, there is no public contract to confirm it.

Despite its design with high-end materials and elevators, the bridge is little used because the former San Lázaro Garita is not open to the public.
Purchase of clothing for employees
Another significant expense was the acquisition of clothing and uniforms for 19 million pesos from the company Grupo Taurus, created shortly before the contract was awarded.
The purchase included:
1,173 suits for men.
221 tailored suits for women.
726 jerseys and 290 blouses.
537 tactical jackets, among other garments.
Gifts and outings for employees
The deputies also allocated more than 3 million pesos in gifts and events for their employees. They bought tickets for amusement parks and electronic items.
The main expenses were:
Three Kings Day: 1,056 entries to Michin Aquarium, with food included, for 472,000 pesos.
Children's Day: 1,080 tickets for Six Flags and meal packages for 700,902 pesos.
Mother's and Father's Day: purchases of refrigerators, screens, computers, and other items for more than 984,000 pesos.
End of year party: acquisition of more electronic items for 706,000 pesos.
Courses and workshops unrelated to legislation
The Chamber of Deputies paid 11.3 million pesos for 36 courses, which are not directly related to legislative work, including:
"Suicide prevention, anxiety and stress management at work" (137,000 pesos).
"Sorority: strengthening the union among women" (111,000 pesos).
"The style and image you project in your work environment" (80,000 pesos).
Courses on "Ethical hacking," "Advanced laptop repair," "Kanban" and other technological topics, for more than 1.5 million pesos.
Is this spending justified in a context of austerity?
These expenses were made while the Chamber of Deputies publicly defended republican austerity.
But the allocations to little-used works, the purchase of clothing, gifts, as well as irrelevant courses, raise questions about the management of public resources.
