They seized top-level mansions with stuffed tigers from the Michoacana Family Cartel.
Mansions with up to 15 rooms and artificial private lakes were found for the comfort of Mexican criminals
State and federal authorities carried out an operation that resulted in the seizure of 21 properties linked to the Familia Michoacana. This organized crime group has operated with impunity for decades.
Among the seized assets are mansions luxuriously decorated with gold, artificial lakes, and various eccentricities. These seized assets reflect the ostentation with which criminal leaders live in a country plagued by violence.

The properties are covered in top-level.
According to the State of Mexico's Prosecutor's Office, the properties secured in six municipalities were used as warehouses, drug distribution centers, surveillance points, and safe houses.
They also identified estates designed for the shelter and comfort of the criminal group's leaders. Among them are the brothers José Alfredo and Johnny Hurtado Olascoaga, identified as priority targets by the federal government.

The seized properties were built with expensive materials, such as precious woods and gold-plated structures. Inside, there were golden columns, stuffed exotic animals, tennis courts, and private docks on artificial lakes.
This level of opulence contrasts with the insecurity and precarious conditions in which millions of Mexicans live. Especially in areas controlled by organized crime.
There are still many unknowns to solve in this case.
Although these mansions were built with allegedly illicit resources, they had documents issued by local authorities that gave them a veneer of legality.
This practice has been recurrent in entities where corruption allows organized crime to operate easily. However, the official statement doesn't mention any arrests, raising doubts about the effectiveness of these operations.
We must remember that there are doubts about the government's real willingness to dismantle the networks of political protection that facilitate the growth of these groups.

Similar operations have been carried out in these states
The actions were carried out in municipalities such as Amatepec, Luvianos, Sultepec, Tejupilco, Temascaltepec, and Tlatlaya, all historically controlled by criminal organizations.
In these territories, extortion and violence unfortunately are part of daily life.Federal security strategies seem more focused on media measures than on a real fight against crime.

The seizure of these properties adds to other operations carried out in other states such as Chiapas and Veracruz, where several local authorities have been arrested.
However, crime continues to gain ground, highlighting the failure of the current security strategy. Many claim that, far from pacifying the country, the government's strategy has allowed organized crime to strengthen.
Meanwhile, citizens continue to await concrete results in the fight against violence. Beyond spectacular blows that, in practice, do little to affect the structure of the cartels that continue to operate with total impunity.
