Six million citizens refuse to be polling station officials
Citizens are not found at their homes or claim work-related reasons for not participating in the judicial election
Every week there is new evidence that the election of judges by popular vote is not a viable reform. This time the citizens have made it clear that they are not interested in participating in that so-called "electoral exercise."
The INE recorded that 6.1 million Mexicans refused to participate as polling station officials for the judicial election on June 1.
The main reason for declining is because the electoral trainerscould not locate 2,913,781 citizens at their homes. Another reason is that they are unable to participate due to work or social reasons.

1.5 million citizens are needed for the polling stations
The INE requires 1.5 million citizens to operate the 84,000 sectional polling stations. But, according to reports, they are 71,000 short of reaching that goal two weeks before the training stage concludes.
The group of eligible citizens was selected by drawing their birth month (February and May) as well as the initial of their last name (A), representing 13 million Mexicans.
In each election, the majority of the selected citizens choose not to participate for various reasons. Whether due to the full day's workload and the lack of financial compensation, as only food is provided to them.

The main reason for declining is because people don't answer the phone
As of March 13, data reveals that 6,172,574 people declined to participate as polling station officials for various reasons. Although in each electoral process the majority of those selected reject the invitation.
The main reason for declining is because they could not locate the person at their home, corresponding to 2,913,781 citizens. Meanwhile, 1.4 million people cited work reasons.
What does the judicial reform generate?
The judicial reform generates concerns and uncertainty about its impact on the investment environment.
A complete change in the justice system coupled with the fear of the currently very volatile markets for the investment environment.

The Judicial Reform implies a large-scale structural renewal to "make justice more just." Its defenders claim that it aligns with the social and cultural changes caused in recent years.
But the reality is that Mexicans are not satisfied with the current situation in the country, and it has been demonstrated that they do not want to participate.
