Scandals continue over the misuse of public resources by Morena politicians. This time, in Oaxaca, a state governed by Morena.

The legislator Margarita García from PT said that the Secretary of Tourismhas misused public resources. She refers to the payments made by the secretary to finance celebrations and events with public money.

The PT deputy, called for the dismissal of Oaxaca's Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Pineda, also from Morena. The reason is that Pineda has made 'indiscriminate' use of taxpayers' money.

The legislator pointed out that there is a "national-level scandal." Because the Oaxaca government paid 12 million pesos to Julián Álvarez for a performance.

She also criticized the government for using resources on such concerts instead of investing them in improving the city.

The resources could have been used to finish roads, for schools, health centers, and hospitals. It is worth noting that in Oaxaca there is a lack of medicines, equipment, and doctors.

The governor of Oaxaca denies everything

Although the governor has denied the payment, the PT member pointed out that the Secretary of Tourism has admitted the 12 million and presented an invoice. She was asked for the invoice to be reviewed "with a magnifying glass" by the Federal Audit Office.

"I am very sure it is a fake invoice, it has already been said in several media outlets," she added.

So far there is no information on any ongoing investigation.

The Secretary of Tourism spends public resources ostentatiously.

Apparently, this is not the only time public resources have been used for unnecessary events.

Among other expenses by the official, the federal legislator highlighted the use of 10 million pesos on gifts for "top-level guests."

In addition to the recent trip to Oaxaca by 30 people from the Oaxaca Secretary of Tourism with all expenses paid. That is, they went on vacation at the public's expense.

"Yes, she has been too ostentatious —the Secretary of Tourism— with the payments for various celebrations that we have denounced. We have also explained on paper how much she said was spent," the legislator noted.

Morena has a bad reputation for spending public resources on unnecessary events. In January, the CDMX government spent 10 million pesos hiring Polymath, a little-known band but close to Morena officials.
