A tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 9 in Tabasco. A passenger bus collided head-on with a cargo trailer on the Cárdenas-Coatzacoalcos highway. The preliminary toll is devastating:more than 30 dead and several injured.
Some are in critical condition. The disaster has mobilized emergency services and state authorities.

A devastating crash in the early morning
The accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on a heavily traveled highway section. The bus, which was traveling from Tapachula to Mexico City, was carrying approximately 40 passengers. For reasons still unknown, it collided head-on with a trailer traveling in the opposite direction.
The impact was brutal. Witnesses and rescue teams described a harrowing scene. The bus was destroyed at the front, and the trailer was overturned on the side of the road.
More than 30 dead and multiple injured
State authorities confirmed that at least 30 people died at the scene. Most were bus passengers. Among the victims are men, women, and children. Official identities have not yet been released.
Several injured were transported to hospitals in Cárdenas and Villahermosa. Some are in critical condition. Emergency teams worked for hours to rescue survivors trapped in the wreckage.
"It was a harrowing scene. There were people asking for help and many lifeless bodies", recounted a paramedic who participated in the rescue efforts.
