'F*** his mother': PAN lashes out at Noroña for authoritarianism
The leader of the PAN caucus in Chihuahua insults his mother, while Noroña responds, feeling attacked
The president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, is once again at the center of controversy due to his authoritarian conduct. This time, he was involved in a new scandal by demanding a public apology from a citizen, provoking widespread indignation. PAN deputy Alfredo Chávez replied firmly to the behavior of the Morena member.
During a press conference, Chávez strongly criticized the senator for his attitude toward freedom of expression, referring to the incident in which a businessman was forced to apologize to Noroña after confronting him at the Mexico City International Airport.
Alfredo Chávez's forceful message
The deputy from Chihuahua warned that Noroña can't restrict citizens' freedom under any pretext. He stated that the senator's actions reflect the true face of Morena: authoritarian and elitist.
"I'm saying it loud and clear, we've been very respectful. What happened is Morena in its entirety. They stopped being people to become nobility.
Today, no one can insult anyone anymore because we might, perhaps, be taken to a prosecutor's office. I'm saying it loud and clear on behalf of the parliamentary group of Acción Nacional, on behalf of the 12 PAN deputies to the president of the Senate: go f*ck yourself."
Noroña's excessive reaction
Fernández Noroña described the statement as a "cowardly" and "execrable" act. In a letter addressed to the Congress of Chihuahua, he accused Chávez of acting with hatred and slandering him in his absence.
Long sentence: "He insinuated that, if he were in the nineteenth century, he would be obliged to challenge the deputy to a duel, although at present his obligation is to repudiate the insult and formally express his complaint before the local Congress."
Suggested version: "He insinuated that in the nineteenth century he would have challenged the deputy to a duel. Today, he said, his duty is to formally express his complaint before the local Congress."
The senator's reaction confirms the intolerant nature of the Morena regime. Far from encouraging debate, it seeks to silence criticism by force, showing the growing risk to freedom of expression in Mexico.
