The real dream

Not having to leave your country to survive

The real dream isn't to reach another country.
The real dream is not having to leave your own in order to survive.

Every person has the right to seek more dignified living conditions for themselves and their family. Migration isn't always a free choice; many times, it's a necessity, and that deserves understanding and humanity.

That's why it's essential to distinguish between legal and illegal migration.
Migrating legally is exercising a right within the framework of the law.
Migrating illegally means violating that order; many times out of necessity, yes, but it remains an irregularity that can't become the norm.

So, what should be done about the millions of Hispanics, mostly Mexicans, who live in the United States without the necessary documents, but who have spent years working, contributing, paying taxes, and building an honest life?

The fair thing would be to implement a gradual regularization, with clear conditions, that recognizes the effort and good conduct of those who have demonstrated commitment, respect for the law, and a sincere desire to integrate.
This isn't about a general amnesty or a mass deportation.
This is about justice with order. About mercy with truth.

Uncontrolled migration is unfair both for migrants and for the citizens of the country that receives them.

That's why an urgent immigration reform is needed, with firm and humane policies.
Policies that stop abuses, human trafficking, drug trafficking such as fentanyl, arms trafficking, and crime; but that also recognize the honest and hardworking migrant, who doesn't ask for privileges, but for an opportunity to live in peace and with dignity.

Migration is an open wound, and family separation is a tragedy that hurts the soul.

However, we can't talk about migration without going to the root, without addressing what causes it: violence, poverty, corruption, communism, drug trafficking, and governments that have betrayed their people.
Millions don't leave by choice; they leave because they can no longer stay.
They leave due to lack of opportunities, they leave out of necessity, they leave because they have no other option.
Their countries have been hijacked by the usual suspects: corrupt politicians and their allies, the cartels.

No one should be forced to abandon their home; that also causes family separation from the very beginning.

That's why I propose that we must fight on two fronts:

  1. Protect the border, because every nation has the duty, the right, and the responsibility to defend its sovereignty, with just, firm, and humane laws.
  2. Also protect the dignity of the migrant, especially that of women and children, relentlessly combating the criminal networks that traffic people as if they were merchandise.

I've said it many times: migrants don't flee out of ambition, they flee for survival.
If we truly believe in life and in family, then our fight must also be so that no migrant has to leave their homeland in order to live with dignity.

However, it's also essential to talk about the behavior of the migrant who arrives in a country that isn't their own.
They must arrive with a spirit of gratitude, knowing that country owes them absolutely nothing.
They must respect the laws and rules of the nation that receives them, understanding that if they break them, that country has every right to deport them.

The dream is for families to remain united, in their homeland, in their communities, with peace, with work, and with freedom.
The dream is to see our peoples standing tall, without fear, rebuilding themselves from the roots.

It's also key to strengthen a solid alliance, transparent and strategic, between Mexico and the United States to boost the Mexican energy sector and generate well-paid jobs for future generations of Mexicans.
Mexico is enough for everyone.

Mexico doesn't need welfare; it needs investment, productive sovereignty, and long-term vision.
